Subject: Report Proposal

Apple, Inc. has been one of the major players in the electronics and mobile industry by dominating the market with its iPhone. However, other companies such as Blackberry, Samsung, Google, and Microsoft are competing with the iPhone. Apple’s competition is imitating the iPhone by selling a similar or compatible device at a cheaper price. I propose to write a report detailing on how Apple can make the iPhone a universal handheld device.

Need

The inability to understand Gen-Y’s preference in mobile devices has caused other companies to compete with iPhone by imitating the product.

- The lack of business aspect on the iPhone has caused consumers to look elsewhere in mobile devices
- The continued growth of applications has hindered the memory and battery of the device
- Expensive plans has caused consumers to purchase a cheaper handheld device or plan

Since the creation of the iPhone, there has been a tremendous growth in Apple, Inc. and the iPhone. The iPhone is very appealing to Gen-Y because of the touch screen and fashionable use. Apple, Inc. is the dominating competitor of the mobile industry but other companies are catching on to this fashionable idea of the iPhone. Proximity clients who are seeking to purchase a handheld device other then the iPhone need this proposal to comprehend the needs of Gen-Y and iPhone as the universal handheld device.

Topics

The proposed report “iPhone: Apple’s Universal Handheld Device” will include the following topics

- What is considered as a universal handheld; definition
- How the iPhone can become business friendly
- The effects of application growth/ internet/ antivirus
- The effects of the iPhone data plans
- What the future hold for iPhone social networking

In addition to the topics, the proposed report will include attachments that show Apple, Inc. growth, new phones/features, and trends of users.
